Hold your hand down, palm facing the dog, with the first two fingers extended.

GOAL: The dog touches his nose to your hand.

This is a handy tool for getting the dog to move from one place to another, for example away from the front door to his crate or bed when guests are arriving. You’ll also find it useful as you move on to other behaviors such as getting the dog into a Heel, or teaching the dog to Come.
